How would you describe Avient Pune’s GMP certification journey?
Compliance with GMP’s 10 Golden Rules was not easy. Our associates readily accepted this challenge and successfully integrated GMP into our process flow with a special focus on system & process validations and hygiene. As any management system states, we do what we write and write what we do, and we pride ourselves in doing things right the first time with no surprises for our customers.
What unique benefits do Pune site’s GMP & ISO accreditations bring to your customers?
This certification ensures that our products are consistent and controlled according to quality standards. With the support of the GMP 10 Golden Rules, we minimize customer risks by documenting that we follow correct procedures at each step in the manufacturing process every time we make a product.
Which customer segments would Avient India grow in because of the GMP certification?
The achievement of the GMP certification is a tremendous milestone for Avient in India. Our company was also the first specialty formulator in India to achieve the ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System. These accreditations provide a competitive edge to target India’s growing food packaging and healthcare markets and help us grow as a leader in these segments.
What would be the next milestone Avient India gears up for following the GMP certification?
At Avient, innovation and sustainability are the lifeblood of our company. We are looking at increasing our R&D spend globally and in India, no doubt some of our next milestones will be in this area. It will be a step forward in making good our promise to improve sustainability through collaboration and formulating specialty polymer solutions for our customers.
What is the singular quality of the Avient workforce that you feel inspired by?
I feel inspired by the ability of our workforce to collaborate and work as a team across diverse manufacturing sites in India and globally. They know how to integrate their knowledge & synergies and harness this power to benefit our customers and the planet.
