In addition, TOM® pipes are remarkably lightweight, weighing less than half as much as PVC and PE pipes and between six and twelve times less per linear meter than equivalent cast-iron pipes. This fact facilitates handling, transport, and installation while reducing associated environmental impacts.
One of their main environmental advantages is a significantly lower carbon footprint. The manufacturing process requires less energy than many traditional pipe materials, generating up to 33% fewer CO₂ emissions.

PVC is also a resource-efficient material, as only 43% of its composition is derived from oil. They can be ground and processed as rework material to be used in the manufacture of other plastic products with lower technical requirements.
