Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence in Plastics Recycling

PIMCO: From Mini Granulators to Global Recycling Machinery Solutions

Five decades of innovation, engineering precision and customer commitment have shaped PIMCO’s journey in plastics recycling machinery, led by founder Mr. N. Chandrakant and the second generation, Mr. Vinay Nandwana and Mr. Vipul Nandwana.

In an industry where technological advancement and sustainability are becoming increasingly important, five decades of experience represent more than just a milestone. They reflect a legacy of vision, perseverance and continuous innovation. PIMCO, which began its journey in 1975 with the manufacturing of mini granulators, has grown into an established name in plastics recycling and processing machinery, serving customers across India and international markets.

At the heart of this journey is Mr. N. Chandrakant, Chairman and Managing Director of PIMCO, whose vision took shape at a time when plastics recycling had yet to receive the attention it commands today. His forward-thinking approach laid the foundation for a business that would evolve alongside the changing needs of the plastics industry. Today, the next generation, Mr. Vinay Nandwana and Mr. Vipul Nandwana, is carrying that legacy forward with a renewed emphasis on global markets, technological advancement and customer-focused solutions.

A Vision Ahead of Its Time

When PIMCO began operations in 1975, its focus was on manufacturing mini granulators. The decision to invest in recycling machinery at a time when the sector was still developing demonstrated a willingness to look beyond immediate market opportunities and anticipate the industry’s future needs.

Over the years, PIMCO’s journey has been defined by a consistent desire to develop, improve and expand. From its early mini granulators, the company progressively broadened its engineering capabilities to manufacture both the smallest and the largest sizes of granulators, with an emphasis on precision, durability and reliable performance.

For Mr. N. Chandrakant, innovation has always been central to business development. His philosophy reflects the importance of experimentation, calculated risk-taking and continuous learning.

Mr. N. Chandrakant, Chairman & Managing Director, says:

“Innovate, experiment and take risks. Over the years, this approach has led our team and our entire company to great amounts of success.”

This philosophy captures the spirit behind PIMCO’s evolution. Rather than remaining confined to its original product category, the company has continued to explore new designs, develop machinery and respond to the increasingly diverse requirements of plastic processors.

The Next Generation: Taking the Legacy to Global Markets

Building on the foundation established by Mr. N. Chandrakant, the second generation, Mr. Vinay Nandwana and Mr. Vipul Nandwana, is focused on taking PIMCO into its next phase of growth.

The global plastics industry is undergoing significant change, driven by growing interest in resource efficiency, material recovery, manufacturing productivity and improved recycling practices. For machinery manufacturers, these developments create opportunities to serve customers with more versatile, efficient and dependable equipment.

Under the leadership of Mr. Vinay Nandwana and Mr. Vipul Nandwana, PIMCO’s focus on international markets and technological upgrades reflects an ambition to strengthen its presence beyond domestic boundaries while maintaining the values on which the company was built.

Their challenge is not simply to preserve a 50-year-old legacy, but to build upon it. This means combining the experience accumulated over decades with contemporary manufacturing practices, professional management, evolving customer expectations and continued product development.

The second generation represents the bridge between the company’s established engineering heritage and its future ambitions.

Engineering Precision: From the Smallest to the Biggest

PIMCO’s central strength lies in its focus on manufacturing machinery across a broad range of sizes and applications. The company’s experience in granulator manufacturing enables it to address different processing requirements, from compact equipment to large-capacity granulation solutions.

Precision, durability and reliability remain the guiding principles behind PIMCO’s approach to machinery manufacturing.

In plastics processing, machinery performance can influence material recovery, production continuity, operating efficiency and maintenance requirements. Customers therefore need equipment that is suited to their applications and capable of delivering consistent performance over time.

PIMCO’s emphasis on quality and robust construction is intended to support these expectations. Its broad product portfolio also enables the company to cater to customers with varying production needs rather than limiting its expertise to a single type of machine.

With more than 300 machines reportedly delivered worldwide annually, PIMCO continues to serve a diverse customer base across Indian and overseas markets. This international reach reflects the importance of dependable machinery and application-oriented solutions in the plastics processing industry.

A Comprehensive Product Portfolio

PIMCO has developed an extensive range of machinery to address the varied requirements of plastics recycling, size reduction, mixing, material handling and processing.

Its product portfolio includes:

  • Granulation solutions: Granulators, jumbo granulators, inline sheet granulators, inline edge granulators, trim roll feed granulators, slow-speed granulators, medium-speed granulators, low-noise granulators and wet grinders.
  • Recycling and size-reduction equipment: Shredders, agglomerators, pulverisers, lump cutters and reprocessing machines with pelletising systems.
  • Material handling and dust management: Hopper loaders, granulators with blowers and dust collectors, and granulator systems with conveyors, blowers and silos.
  • Mixing and blending equipment: Single conical mixers, conical pan mixers, dry colour mixers, vertical colour mixers, Roto Cube mixers and high-speed compounding mixers.
  • Auxiliary equipment: Hopper dryers, circular vibratory screens and knife sharpeners.

This extensive range allows PIMCO to offer solutions for different stages of plastics processing and recycling. By combining product variety with its experience in granulator manufacturing, the company aims to provide customers with practical machinery options suited to their operational requirements.

Quality as a Business Commitment

For PIMCO, quality is not limited to the finished machine. It is an approach that encompasses product development, manufacturing processes, employee involvement, technical skills and customer service.

The company has emphasised continuous improvement, conformance to specifications, efficient quality management and ongoing employee training as key elements of its quality policy.

PIMCO’s historical quality credentials include ISO 9001:2008 certification through URS Quality Management Systems, United Kingdom, with UKAS accreditation cited in its company records in January 2009. This certification is an important part of the company’s quality history; its current certification status should be verified separately.

The company’s commitment to quality also extends to the relationships it builds with customers. Its objective is to understand individual processing requirements and provide machinery that supports productivity, dependable operation and long-term value.

As PIMCO’s philosophy suggests, the quality and durability of a machine are an investment that begins to pay back from day one.

Professionalism, Manufacturing and Customer Satisfaction

PIMCO’s development has taken place alongside the transformation of the Indian economy and its increasing integration with global markets. This transition has created opportunities for Indian engineering companies to strengthen their capabilities, adopt professional management practices and compete internationally.

PIMCO recognises professionalism at every level as an important contributor to business growth. Its emphasis on team involvement, employee development and customer satisfaction reflects an understanding that manufacturing excellence depends on people as much as machinery.

The company’s production facilities, established in 1975, have supported its manufacturing journey. Over the decades, the emphasis on developing new products and upgrading technology has helped PIMCO broaden its offerings and respond to changing industry requirements.

Its history of product development includes portable mini granulators, granulators incorporating control panels and safety devices, dual-chamber granulators, integrated granulator systems, conical and vertical mixers, Roto Cube mixers and staggered-rotor universal granulators.

These developments illustrate a continuing effort to adapt machinery design to practical processing needs.

The Road Ahead: Innovation with Experience

As the plastics industry continues to evolve, recycling machinery manufacturers have an important role to play in enabling efficient material recovery and supporting more responsible use of resources. The future will demand equipment that combines dependable engineering with adaptability, productivity and increasingly sophisticated processing requirements.

For PIMCO, the next chapter is an opportunity to bring together the founder’s entrepreneurial vision, five decades of manufacturing experience and the global outlook of the second generation.

Mr. N. Chandrakant established the vision. Mr. Vinay Nandwana and Mr. Vipul Nandwana are carrying it forward. Together, their roles represent the continuity of a family-led manufacturing enterprise that has grown alongside the plastics industry.

Fifty years after beginning with mini granulators, PIMCO’s focus remains on manufacturing machinery with precision, expanding its capabilities and serving customers with quality and reliability.

Its journey is a reminder that lasting industrial success is built not through a single breakthrough, but through decades of consistent effort, learning and adaptation.

Fifty years of excellence is not merely a celebration of the past. For PIMCO, it is a foundation for the future — driven by innovation, guided by experience and strengthened by a commitment to the plastics industry.
